Greens
Both wild and cultivated varieties of greens are delicious and nutritious additions to your diet. Get adventurous and start adding edible wild greens (i.e., weeds) to your diet. You can harvest them straight from your garden. If in doubt, be sure to get reliable help identifying the weed first before picking and eating. Wild greens taste best if picked when young and tender and include dandelion, perslane, ramps, sorrel, lamb’s quarters, chickweed, chicory, garlic mustard, shepherd’s purse, fiddleheads, wild prickly lettuce and mache (
Valerianella locusta).
